There are 3 ways to access the Auto Channel Modes dialog: 1) From the Menubar popup, under the extras menu. 2) It appears when you right-click in any channel that you have ops, under the modes menu, selecting auto modes. 3) Using the command /acm.
First you have to add channels and then select them in the list, in order to be able to set the modes you want to them. When you have set the modes you want, press the Apply button, to save these modes.
In order for these modes to work, you have to enable them first, by checking the Enable checkbox. Of course none of these modes will be set, if you don't have ops in the specific channel.
These modes are: op, deop, voice, ban. For both deop and ban modes, there's an option to exclude the users you have added in your userlist as protected (flag 'p').
Topic gives you the option to change the topic in the specific channel, if you have ops, using a timer. Topics that are to be set, are stored in a file, where you can add or delete them. This file has already some quotes. To add or delete a topic, press the Add button. This will open the Topic Editor Dialog, where you have option to add another topic or view the topics yoou have, by opening the text file. If you want to add a topic, type it in the edit box and press the Add button. You can add only one topic at the time. If you want to delete one, press the View button to open the file and select the topic you want to delete.
Note: Each line contains a single topic.
Another option for the topic, is to lock it. This will lock the curent topic or every one that you will set. If someone will change it, you will set the one that you have locked and you will send him/her a /msg telling him/her that the topic is locked and not to change it again.
