Userlist General

Top  Previous  Next

All entries are default to address type 3 (*!*userid@*.domain) and level 10.

You can add as many hosts as you like and you can edit them later, in any way that you think proper.

Note: If you are not familiar with user@hosts, leave the default.

You also have the option to rename the user, after you add him/her in your Userlist.

You can set different channels for each flag, for every user.

Flags

a: AutoOpped Users

b: Banned Users

c: Protected Users from Clone Kick

d: Deoped Users

i: Users with Info

o: Opped Users

p: Protected Users

v: Voiced Users

Flags are also explained in the UserList dialog, by pressing the Flags button.

Users with flag p are protected from all events, including the Clone Kick (i.e. you don't have to give to a user both, p and c flags).

As Channels, you can name certain channels (if many, seperate by commas) and always use the # sign. You can also use the word all if you want to add the user for all channels.

Info (if set), will be "said" in the channel when the user joins it.

If you give flag a to a user, you will op him/her automaticaly, when he/she joins the given channel(s), given the fact that you have ops in that channel.

If the user has o flag, he/she will have to set a password, which he/she will have to send to you, in order to get ops.

Instructions on how to do this, are sent to him/her (not vissible to you), when you add him/her in your Userlist.

New pass:                   /msg your_nick -npass <#channel> <oldpass> <newpass>

Set pass:                /msg your_nick -pass <#channel> <pass>

Get op:                        /msg your_nick -op <#channel> <pass>

Help:                                /msg your_nick -help

_bm1 _bm1 _bm1 Tip: If you don't want to send these instructions to the user, add him/her without the a or o flags, and then add these flags (a or o) and click the Update button.

Each time you connect to a server (on connect), you are added in your userlist, with level me and address type 2 - you are removed each time you disconnect (on disconnect) and you are excluded from all events.

This goes for X (Undernet's bot), as well. Meaning, do NOT add X in your Userlist and, do NOT give op to X, as this can cause your channel to become desynched.

The Userlist option can be found in the Nicklist, Channel and Menubar popups.

From the Channel popup you can see the users for the active channel. This means that, in the Userlist's dialog will be listed all users, who are added for the active channel or 'all' channels, with any flags.

From the Nicklist popup you can add a user or add a host to an existing user. If the specific host is already added, then the option to add the host, will be disabled.

If you choose to add a host, a dialog will open with a combobox containing all the users of your Userlist and an editboc containing the user@host of the selected user, in *!*userid@*.domain format.

Then choose the user you want to add the host to, and click OK.

From the Menubar popup you have options to:

1) View all users and be able to edit/delete anyone you like.

2) View all users of a specific channel and be able to edit/delete anyone you like.

3) Test the Userlist and get full report of any existing errors, as well as option to fix them.

4) Sort the users.ini file, as well as the entries in the Users section of mIRC.

5) Debug the Userlist.
